How We Work

Our Renovation Process

We follow a structured process that keeps projects on track and clients informed. Here is what working with Rovexaro looks like from start to finish.

Start Your Project
Step 01
Initial Consultation
We schedule a call or site visit to understand your goals, timeline, and budget. No obligation, no pressure — just a conversation to see if we're the right fit.
Step 02
Scope & Estimate
After the site visit, we prepare a detailed written estimate breaking down labour, materials, and timeline. You'll know exactly what's included before anything begins.
Step 03
Planning & Scheduling
Once you approve the scope, we finalize material selections, confirm subcontractors, and set a start date. Permits are arranged where required by local building codes.
Step 04
Construction & Updates
Your project manager keeps you updated throughout the build. You'll receive regular progress check-ins and have a direct line for any questions.
Step 05
Final Walkthrough & Handover
We walk through the completed space with you, address any items on the snag list, and ensure everything meets the standard described in your contract before closing out.

Renovation Planning Tips

A few things worth knowing before you start your renovation project.

Get Everything in Writing

A clear, detailed contract protects both you and the contractor. Ensure scope, materials, timeline, and payment schedule are all documented before any work begins.

Plan a Contingency Buffer

Most experienced renovators recommend setting aside 10–15% of your budget for unforeseen conditions — things like hidden water damage or outdated wiring that only appear once walls are opened.

Lead Times on Materials Can Be Long

Cabinets, specialty tiles, and some flooring products can take 6–12 weeks to arrive. Locking in material selections early keeps your project on schedule.

Permits Matter

Structural changes, electrical work, and some plumbing modifications require permits. Unpermitted work can create complications when selling and may affect your home insurance.

Vet Your Contractor

Check for valid BC business registration, ask for proof of liability insurance, and review references from recent projects. A legitimate contractor welcomes this kind of due diligence.

Communication Sets the Tone

The best renovation experiences happen when both sides communicate clearly and promptly. Establish a preferred communication channel with your project contact early on.

Yes. We provide a detailed written estimate before any work begins. It outlines the scope of work, materials, labour costs, projected timeline, and payment schedule. Nothing starts until you have reviewed and approved it.
It depends on the scope of the project. For kitchen or bathroom renovations, many clients stay in the home. For larger full-apartment renovations, it may be more practical to relocate temporarily — especially during demolition phases. We will discuss this with you during the planning stage so you can make an informed decision.
Timelines vary considerably depending on the project scope. A focused bathroom renovation typically takes two to four weeks. A full apartment renovation may take eight to sixteen weeks or more. We will provide a specific projected timeline in your written estimate after assessing the site.
Where permits are required — such as for structural work, electrical panel upgrades, or new plumbing configurations — we handle the permit application process on your behalf. Permit costs are itemized separately in your estimate so you can see exactly what is being applied for and what it costs.
We are based in Sicamous, BC, and regularly work throughout the Shuswap, Okanagan, and surrounding regions — including Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, Salmon Arm, and Kamloops. For projects outside our typical service area, contact us to discuss logistics.
We typically structure payments in milestones tied to project phases — an initial deposit to confirm the project and order materials, progress payments aligned with key completion milestones, and a final payment upon project close-out and your approval of the finished work. Exact terms are outlined in the contract.
